Chronic Diarrhea: How to Avoid It
Chronic diarrhea is one of the ailments that boggle the mind. It is defined as loose stools that lasts more than three weeks. A person who has chronic diarrhea visits the comfort room for at least 3 or more times a day. If neglected, a person can unload a gallon of stools that may lead to dehydration. People tend to be ashamed when consulting for a physician about diarrhea but if the symptoms persist for a week, it is better to consult a doctor. It is safer to seek help than put your health in danger because at some point this digestive system problem may lead to more threatening conditions.
There are a lot of causes for chronic diarrhea. It is better to tackle the three major and common causes.
Food Allergies or Intolerances. If you happen to have a weak constitution, it may be caused by gluten, lactose, peanut and meat intolerance or allergies. So, it's more practical to stay away from foods you are sensitive to than risking your health. Now, if you are not aware that you are sensitive to a specific food product, you will experience IBS symptoms.
Other disease may be a factor in chronic diarrhea. Chronic diarrhea may just be an underlying symptom of a more serious ailment and you just don't know it yet. Some of the serious diseases are IBS, liver failure, diabetes, cancer or Crohn's disease. A series of tests are required to diagnose the diseases.
Candida Albicans are yeast or fungus is found in your digestive tract. This diploid fungus can be a helpful tool for your digestive system but it there is an overgrowth circumstance your body will suffer from getting rid of it. The fungus can multiply if the person is stressed out or eats an unhealthy diet. The condition may lead to chronic diarrhea and may put one's life at risk. It should be treated immediately.
If the diarrhea continues for more than a week, then it is time to look at this in a serious and different perspective. Better consult a doctor if you have chronic diarrhea.
